I should have been a fairy, or perhaps I was before,
echoes of my past life leaving footprints by the shore.
I would hear the call of seagulls taking secrets out to sea
As they watch couples share a first kiss, children playing happily.
I would gaze at the clouds tell a story of those we've loved and lost, would feel teardrops fall from heaven and the early morning frost.
I would taste the air so gently as it passes over me but oh my favourite moment, I would smell the boundless sea.
